Start with the original listing
A product title copied into a spreadsheet is not enough to identify a marketplace option. Save the original URL, seller page, visible product name, selected colour or model, size, quantity, price context and the date you checked it. A link is a starting point, not proof that the listing will remain unchanged.
Weidian, Taobao and 1688 listings can each display variants, bundles, domestic delivery details and seller-specific information differently. Compare the chosen option to the listing itself instead of treating a shared image or a generic title as the product record.
Make option notes specific
Use the seller's own option wording where possible. A note such as “black hoodie” can hide different versions, fabrics or sizes; “black, size L, version B, one piece” gives the next review step something concrete to match.
If a key detail is not visible or is confusing, do not invent an interpretation. Mark the row as incomplete, find a clearer source or use the official purchasing channel to ask a focused question.
Compare the live source before payment
Before submitting a request, reopen the listing and compare its current title, images, option and visible price with your saved record. Sellers can change variants, inventory and promotional prices. A spreadsheet can preserve what you saw; it cannot freeze a marketplace listing.
The same principle applies after an order is placed. Keep the live account confirmation separate from the discovery note. That makes it clear which facts are current order facts and which are earlier research.
Use warehouse evidence for the next question
When warehouse photos or measurements are available, compare them with the selected option and original listing. Check visible identity first, then request one specific missing view or measurement if it affects the decision.
Photos are evidence of visible details at a given time. They do not prove authenticity, internal construction, future stock, final fit or route eligibility. Keep conclusions as narrow as the evidence supports.
Link research to a realistic parcel
A good find is not only a product that looks appealing. It must also make sense when considered with its likely size, packaging, goods type and destination. Keep source notes beside parcel notes so an item can be paused when the shipping context is unclear.
Use live product, account and parcel information for final choices. This independent workflow helps structure the checks; it does not submit orders or guarantee that a marketplace item can be bought or shipped.
